Share Tweet Do you often feel restless sitting down all day? Join me to discuss how a balance between looking at computers and the outdoors could happen. Craving some diversity from looking at a computer screen? Well jump on board and join me to discuss how this could be achieved. I am in search of ideas to incorporate a part time active job with my existing office job. Do you have some ideas? I would like to aim high by aligning this job with my values. What are your values and do they align with your work? My values include social well-being, nature, wholesome food, relationships, health/fitness, life long learning and most importantly fun. While I am aiming high, I’d like to aim for an equivalent or higher pay rate (pro rata) to my existing full time job. Why does this matter you say? Because I believe there is a relationship between the money I earn and self worth. This is my partner Matt doing one of the things we love – snow skiing. Do you think we would enjoy it this much if this environment became our work? So what ideas come to your mind? For starters, things that come to my mind include managing a ski lodge, community gardens and food share cooperatives. However, I would also need to be realistic. Then there’s letter drops, dog walking and being paid to ride a horse. But after exploring these options, I realise the pay rate is limited. Then again, maybe just maybe….. I am just going through a restless phase. Historically I stay within a job for three years and I am approaching that in my day time job. Maybe an extra holiday is as good as a change. But then again by bringing in a part time active job or a more flexible job will bring the diversity and the outdoors that I am craving. Do you have some suggestions? Have you achieved a balance between office and practical work. Who can share their story with us?
